Artist’s Statement
No matter your age, as an artist, your work is always affected by your personal journey. This exhibit represents revitalization of old work, as well as the creation of new pieces. Having the confidence of a seasoned artist, I like to combine many layers using a multiple of mediums. This method brings exciting challenges to me. It is much more rewarding then using materials in a traditional application. Some pieces are figurative representations of my life, while others are literal representations of my journey over the last few years.
Teaching, and care taking have greatly affected what and how I create. Most recently the birth of my grandchild has me looking at everything differently. Creating is so rewarding that it has helped me document, heal and enjoy life’s journey.
