Artist's Statement

One of my most recent trips to Maine brought a sense of calmness over my life. At many moments through my life I have felt this peace come over me, but one of the areas in which I have felt, and continue to feel this is when I am seeing clearly. What you are encountering during this particular opening is one's heart open to the brightness that is represented within these breathtaking flowers. I ask that you take the time to allow your mind, heart, and soul to feel the power of serenity.

Serenity is described in many different ways. My favorite descriptions are: tranquility, quiet, calmness, brightness. This is what I wanted to share with you. Serenity is one of my favorite words; in one aspect, it represents one's feelings, and ability to be within a great state of calmness; on other levels, serenity can represent the light in which one lives within one's heart.

With my first attempt at photography this journey has at times become an adventure, within which one can become unraveled and transformed, even catching a glimpse into one's heart.

As I begin my next collection I am grateful for the opportunity to show you what a tiny bit of a very significant flower can accomplish. My deepest "thank you" for allowing yourself to be open to this wonderful experience.
