Artist's Biography
Mary Kate MacIsaac is a documentary photographer from Calgary, Canada. For six years, she lived in the Middle East, first as a graduate student at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and later as an aid worker. Until 2001, MacIsaac was the director of communications for a humanitarian aid agency and has worked in Iraq and Kosovo, in addition to Israel/Palestine. Her other photo projects have included the contemporary Ku Klux Klan (Arkansas), endangered Missouri bottomlands farming, and grassroots organizing in low-income neighborhoods. Currently, she is developing a project on Catholics and gay marriage. Mary Kate holds an MA in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and will graduate in May from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Cambridge. |
