In Memory of Gulli Kula

We are grateful for the life of longtime member Gulli Kula, who died on December 12, 2014 after a short illness. She was 86.

Gulli was a beloved member of the UniLu community, active most recently in the Women of UniLu. She worked as a pharmacist and chemist; created beautiful gardens; earned a master's degree in anthropology from Harvard later in life; and was an accomplished weaver, contributing many works that continue to grace our altar. Her 2008 "trunk show" at University Lutheran, at which she displayed and shared the stories behind her liturgical creations; weavings inspired by her study of Peruvian textiles; and her "woven autobiography," was a memorable experience for many.

A memorial service at University Lutheran is planned for the spring of 2015, and interment will be at Silvberg Church, in Grangshammar, Sweden, this summer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gulli's name to the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter. Send checks to Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, 66 Winthrop St, Cambridge, MA 02138, or give online and choose "Harvard Square Homeless Shelter" as the Designation.

Gulli's husband Eric and their children and grandchildren are in our thoughts and prayers.
