Artists’ Statement

Patagonia. A vast region of Chile and Argentina, of glaciers and penguins, of flowers and rivers, of lakes and icebergs, of mountain towers and cowboys on horses.

These photographs by Jennifer Brown, Michael Neufeld, Chris Pollari and Chris Porter were taken in January 2018, summer in Patagonia. The major city, Punta Arenas on the Straits of Magellan, is at the same southern latitude as Hudson Bay in Canada.

Different photographers see differently. Though mostly taken in the same places, these photographs show how the eye and the camera create unique images.
