In Memory of Robert Alberty

We are grateful for the life of Robert Alberty, who died on January 18, 2014 at the age of 92. He was the beloved husband of 66 years to the late Lillian J. Alberty (Wind) and the loving father of Nancy Zant, Steve Alberty and his wife Barb Alberty, and Cathy Baxter and her husband Lawford Baxter. Our prayers are with them and his nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many devoted friends.

Our prayers are also with the many students and faculty who were touched by Robert's work as a scientist, teacher, university administrator, and author of influential textbooks in his field of physical chemistry. He was professor emeritus of chemistry at MIT at the time of his death.
